For the sake of "self study", for the sake of "self-control", that is the best, highest form of self study — that is, any form of study that seeks to have your own self examined.

I agree this is the most difficult line in self-analysis, and the only one that I would recommend.

I am not an artist, nor an art historian. When I am writing — and I try to apply that kind of work to every field I write — in self-analysis I always try to create, by the way, a narrative account of a moment that I don't fully realize is there for the reader to see.

All I know is, as a "reproductive" writer, how, in my life, I have kept my "pain in our bodies" a constant refrain. I have tried to make the point that my job is as important and vital as my work is important and vital to my work, and I don't think this is really any different.

I have never thought about whether or not that job is "in the public sphere." I don't think in that department. You say that, in the public sphere, those jobs (the public schools for example) are not important?

I don't think those are. And I think that this is where I come up with these wonderful and highly controversial
